How to Detect Hidden WiFi Congestion from Silent IoT Devices?

Hello

I am running into an odd issue at a client site where several smart devices and IoT panels seem to be causing WiFi slowdowns but there’s no obvious interference / channel overlap. :slightly_smiling_face:

The devices appear quiet in scans but we still see packet delays & signal fluctuations during peak usage. Could this be hidden congestion from passive or low-traffic devices?

Has anyone dealt with something similar? Checked https://support.metageek.com/hc/en-us/articles/215843228-Chanalyzer-4-Tutorial for reference.

We are exploring automated incident tracking through ServiceNow, especially for alerts from WiFi monitoring tools. (A team member recently asked me what is Servicenow, so we walked through how it’s used for IT service management & device event logging.)

Would love input on advanced tools or techniques to uncover these hidden sources of congestion whether it’s spectrum analysis, device behavior logging, or anything in between.

Thank you !!
